The diamond moulding follows a 17th century
manipulation skill called "nipt diamond waies".Typically a Harry Powell adaption.The whole form,bowl,stem and foot follows 17th century venetian styles.

There is one in sky blue in the Lesley Jackson book, I have never seen one in flint, and yes they used real gold foil to create that effect.
