Harry Powells adaption of nothern Europe Historical glass techniques includes the use of prunts as shown. They come in various forms.
1. Raspberry prunts.
A small hand mould is impressed onto the blob when hot flattening it and leaving the appearance of the fruit.
2. A simple blob of glass without decoration.
3.A rolled ball sometimes called a noisette or seed,or even jewel depending on size.
4. A series of prunts drawn into spikes.
5. Rarest of all the seal impressed with designs or names.

A blob of glass applied to a glass object as decoration, but also to afford a firm grip in the absence of a handle.
